Electrical systems need a good ground plane. I had been having some erroneous alarms on the NMEA network devices and had already been through all the network connections. So, I went back to basics and rebedded the bonding plates. Skylark has 2 bonding plate, one on the stern and one on the keel. The rebedding of the keel plate is pictured below, but both plates had the same treatment.

In March 2018, I replaced the old 1000w Inverter/Charger with a Magnum 2010, a 2000w unit. Also replaced were the House batteries, Engine Start Battery and the isolation switches.
In March 2018, I replaced the old 1000w Inverter/Charger with a Magnum 2010, a 2000w unit. Also replaced were the House batteries, Engine Start Battery and the isolation switches.
The original setup had 2, 12v 125AH starter batteries, and 2, 6v house batteries. I've now gone to 2, 12v 150AH deep cycle AGM house batteries and a single, dedicated engine battery. The original charging installation was incorrect, as was the wiring for the high output alternator. So, it was more a "bank 1 and bank 2" scenario, as opposed to dedicated "House Bank/Engine Bank" setup. This was rectified by the replacement of the three position "1/2/All" battery selector switch with a new Dual Circuit Plus switch and Automatic Charge Relay (ACR). This arrangement allows me to easily isolate the engine and house batteries and automatically charge all batteries without a bunch of messing around with switch positions.
